Fanwood Museum Historic Train Station

Fanwood Museum General Information

Located in the oldest remaining railroad station in Union County, the fanwood Museum houses artifacts documenting the Borough's historic ties to the Central Railroad of New Jersey and its land development company that constructed some of the Victorian homes that grace the Fanwood Park Historic District. The Museum may be opened by appointment to accommodate special requests, small groups and educational needs by emailing reservations@fanwoodmuseum.org. The Musuem is generally open the first Sunday of the month from two to four in the afternoon, and for special programs and events. Check back here often for updates.

The Fanwood Museums archives contain historic objects and artifacts, maps, books, photographs, documents and many other items collected by the historic preservation commission or given to the commission as gifts. The commission has begun the arduos task of digitizing the archives and posting them on this web site through the joint libraries database. In the future we hope to add images of the interior of the museum as well as the museums layout to the web site in order to provide a virtual tour.
