FANWOOD HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION REPORT AND ACCOMPLISHMENTS YEARS 2000 AND 2001

CARRIAGE HOUSE ASSESSMENT

Carriage House Committee was formed to liaison with Mark Hewitt, architect on proposed alterations to the outside of the Carriage House. The same committee drew up a set of guidelines for the use and care taking of the carriage house - Adele Kenny, Ed Groskinsky, Joe Nagy, Dolores O'Brien.

LEGISLATION

Will Coronato did a review of the existing Historic Preservation Ordinance of The Borough of Fanwood. A Committee was formed that reviewed and amended in part the existing ordinance - John Celardo, Will Coronato, Joe Nagy, and Dolores O'Brien.

GRANT

The commission applied for and was denied a $27,000 grant by The CLG Office for Creation of Design Principles and revisions to the existing Historic Preservation ordinance.

HISTORIC DISTRICT

Nancy Zerbe, consultant, submitted her statement of significance and final proposal of the boundaries of an historic district, to be known as Fanwood Park. The Historic Preservation Commission and Borough Council now have to accept or reject said proposal. We are also in the process of designating three structures on a local registry. With the final acceptance of the proposed district, Nancy Zerbe has agreed to address the citizens within that district.
